Microsoft's Bing and its unique features

Microsoft's Bing is an effort to unseat Google as the world's leading search engine.  As the world's biggest software company, it follows, quite obviously, that Microsoft would want to launch its own player into the search engine game.  Bing brings many features into the searching process that are new and innovative, as well as building on and improving previously existing ones.

While Bing is not exactly a Google-killer, it brings many useful changes that users will find interesting and helpful.  It is definitely an improvement on Microsoft's previous 'Live Search' feature.  Bing has varied specialized engines working together on one page that allows users to obtain all the information that they want without having to surf through several pages of search results.

A dramatic new enhancement that Bing has recently added is 'Visual Search'.  This new feature allows users to find information just by browsing through images.  The user simply needs to mouse over the images and details will be shown accordingly.  This is a great time-saver and will attract many users towards Bing.  Microsoft's aim is to gain a hold on the search engine market by   introducing innovative features like the "Visual Search that increases search efficiency and convenience", as explained by an Arkansas web design company. While Visual Search has not been perfected yet, changes are expected frequently as the technology progresses, and it will soon be one of Bang’s key features.  Another feature of the Visual Search is that users can refine their search results given their needs, and omit unnecessary information in order to keep the search page organized and systematic.

Microsoft’s new Silverlight Web display technology powers Visual Search.  It is part of Microsoft's arsenal to close in on Google's stranglehold on the search market share that was almost 84%. Visual Search can even be integrated to a recruiting software to poll in portfolios of job seekers.  Microsoft is also planning a project to involve Bing in Yahoo's search technology to obtain a larger audience.  Microsoft's attempt to offer something unique seems to be working, as more and more people and companies like RankPay are moving towards Bing as their default search engine choice.  The change from using textual hyperlinks to searching using images is a new era in search engine technology.  This will also encourage competition and Google will probably soon come up with its own visual search technology to rival Microsoft.  Bing is already gaining market share and winning users at a surprising pace.

Bing also offers aesthetic appeal with new backgrounds every day, and features like enhanced search will allows users to view third-party information within the same window, without having to open new links and crowd their browser.  Even with all its innovative features, Bing has borrowed some from Google, like direct linking to sub links within search result pages so that the user may directly navigate to the desired page.  This is part of Bing's attempt to provide a search engine that fulfils every need of the user.  Bing also enables the user to email part of search results conveniently, through collaboration with Hotmail.  Such small but important enhancements may very well prove to be the edge that Bing may have over Google in the near future in all casas in the area.
